Message From The Dean

Firstly, praise to ALLAH SWT for all His favours and blessings upon us. BioTech UPM has celebrated its 5th anniversary last month. I am proud that our staff members have contributed in making the faculty strong in all our three core functions, i.e. teaching, research and professional services. We continue to improve on our teaching with student-centered learning and elements of soft-skills. Alhamdulillah, all our staff succeeded in obtaining R&D grants, either from MOSTI (Top-down, Science Fund and Technofund), MOHE (fundamental grant) and increasingly from industry. Some of our top researchers have also obtained the MTDC Garage Funds and CRDF Bridging Funds for precommercialisation of our R&D! We continue to be one of the top -performing faculties in UPM. Last year, we published more than 3 refereed journal papers per academic staff. We managed to attract the best and brightest students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, thanks partly to the government’s focus on biotechnology. We have several patents approved, with many many more pending and being filed. Alhamdulillah! Overall, we have done very well. As the Dean, I am proud to be associated with the highly dedicated and successful faculty members of BioTech UPM.More
