On 28th October 2007 (Saturday), BioTech for the first time had an alumni gathering in the faculty. There were 180 participants who attended the luncheon. Our guests of honour included Prof Dr. Ismail Abdul Karim and Associate Professor Dr. Hazandy Abdul Hamid, the Director of UPM Alumni Centre. We had such good response from everyone. The event started off with a brief welcoming speech from the Chairperson, Prof Dr. Lai Oi Ming followed by a speech from the Dean, Prof Dr. Arbakariya Ariff. Highlight of the event was formation of a Chapter Alumni Biotech and the committee members are as follow:

There were goodie bags for every participant with a special gift to commemorate this special event. In addition, there were performances by the BioTech students, lucky draws with attractive prizes as well as a charity auction for the underprivileged kids in Sabah. Overall, it was a fabulous event and a great opportunity to be re-connected to our Alumni again! Thanks again to everyone who made this special event a success with their involvement!
